Cross-chain router Squid announced it is powering instant cross-chain access for Ripple USD (RLUSD), enabling seamless movement of the regulated stablecoin across XRPL, Ethereum, Base, Optimism, Ink, Unichain, and the XRPL EVM Sidechain. The integration allows users to swap directly from USDC, USDT, ETH, XRP, and thousands of other assets to RLUSD in a single transaction.
What this integration enables
Squid’s routing and execution layer sources the fastest and most capital-efficient routes across on- and off-chain liquidity, delivering instant execution with near-minimum fees. For end users, RLUSD is now available through Squid’s frontend app (app.squidrouter.com). For developers, the integration is accessible via Squid’s Application Programming Interface (API), Software Development Kit (SDK), and Widget, turning RLUSD into a plug-and-play asset for payments, onboarding, treasury, and settlement across the multichain economy.
Key use cases now enabled include:
- Capital onboarding (acquire RLUSD on XRPL and instantly transfer or swap it anywhere)
- Cross-chain transfers and payments (move RLUSD instantly between chains)
- Cross-currency swaps (convert USDC, USDT, ETH, and XRP directly into RLUSD)
- Automated agentic payments for programmable, real time settlement across chains
RLUSD: Regulated stablecoin growth
RLUSD has been on an absolute tear since it dropped in 2024. It’s already smashed through a $1.6 billion market cap (at the time of writing) and is seeing billions in volume every single month. With tons of people using it for hundreds of thousands of transactions, it’s officially one of the fastest-growing regulated stablecoins on the planet.
RLUSD lives natively on XRPL and Ethereum, but it’s also branched out to other networks like the XRPL EVM Sidechain, Optimism, Base, Ink, and Unichain using Wormhole’s tech.
Thanks to Squid, moving RLUSD between all these different chains is now a breeze. You don’t have to worry about manual bridging or jumping through extra hoops; it just works seamlessly wherever you need it.
Key integrators already using Squid for RLUSD
A bunch of cool projects in the XRP ecosystem are already getting in on the Squid action:
- Strobe: This is XRPL’s first money market where you can lend, borrow, and earn. They use Squid to move capital easily between XRPL and the XRPL EVM.
- Girin: Making it simple to spend XRP and RLUSD anywhere that takes Visa, thanks to Squid’s seamless bridging.
- D’CENT wallet: They’ve plugged in Squid to handle all their multichain swaps.
- Ondex: A friendly self-custodial wallet that uses Squid to bring in liquidity from just about any chain.
- Risepad: This upcoming launchpad uses Squid so you can use any token from any chain to get in on new token launches.
- OnchainGM: They use Squid to help people swap between chains whenever they need a bit more liquidity.
- AhnLab Blockchain Company: They’ve added Squid to their wallet service to make connecting to the global cross-chain world a breeze.
What’s next
Squid isn’t stopping here. The goal is to be the go-to router for regulated stablecoins everywhere. With over $6 billion in volume and over 1,000 teams already using the tech, adding support for new chains as RLUSD grows is just the start.
Behind the scenes, the team is working on bigger partnerships with banks and payment providers to make moving money across chains at a massive scale totally seamless.
As Ripple keeps pushing RLUSD adoption, especially in the Asia-Pacific area, Squid is set to be the backbone that keeps everything moving smoothly. Plus, for all the devs out there, expect even better tools and widgets to make building with RLUSD even easier.
