About Ethena

Ethena is a decentralized finance project based on the Ethereum blockchain, which introduces a cryptocurrency synthetic dollar named USDe. As opposed to banking institutions or fiat funds, Ethena leverages ETH tokens locked in the protocol combined with short futures contracts to peg the value of USDe 1:1 against the USD. Such delta-neutral strategy allows Ethena to decrease volatility while earning interest on capital via what Ethena calls Internet Bond. The Ethena protocol aims to become a censorship-resistant system for stablecoins and offer decentralized storage and usage of stable value within DeFi protocols. Ethena holders can stake their USDe tokens and acquire sUSDe in return, receiving yield generated by staking Ethereum tokens and funding futures contracts. The ENA token, which is the native coin of Ethena, serves as its governance asset.
