USDCAbout USDC
USDS is the upgraded dollar-pegged stablecoin of the Sky Protocol, the ecosystem formerly known as MakerDAO. It can be upgraded from DAI or converted from USDC at a 1:1 ratio through Sky.money and other supported frontends. The token also remains convertible back to DAI, while the upgrade process stays optional for users. USDS works as the main currency inside Sky’s decentralized finance system. The stablecoin uses overcollateralized backing and connects to protocol-based reward options, including the Sky Savings Rate and SKY Token Rewards. USDS can also be used by eligible holders within Sky without the use of external yield platforms, though there are country restrictions on access to rewards. The ecosystem also includes sUSDS for savings and stUSDS for staking-related functions. Sky supports cross-chain use across networks such as Ethereum, Solana, and Avalanche. USDS therefore serves payments, savings, liquidity, governance-linked activity, and DeFi settlement within the wider Sky ecosystem.
