Ape and Pepe (APEPE) is a meme token launched on Polygon in June 2023. It mixes “APE” retail-trader slang with the Pepe frog meme, and it runs mainly as an online community project rather than a formal product. It has no official public roadmap. APEPE has a supply of 210 trillion tokens that are fixed and can be traded on wallets and decentralized exchanges like the other Polygon-based assets. It is primarily used by holders to buy, sell, or provide liquidity in pools and groups on X and Telegram to spur attention and activity. It is not promoting staking, on-chain governance, or in-built DeFi utilities. In the ecosystem, APEPE functions as a social token that benefits from Polygon’s low-fee transfers and fast settlement. Some users treat it as a small, tradable collectible, but others use it to test swaps, liquidity tools, and meme-driven market cycles.
