Turnkey has announced a $12.5 million strategic investment to expand its capability to meet increasing demand for its infrastructure supporting crypto wallets and verifiable computing. The financing round was led by Archetype and Circle Ventures, with investment also coming from other current Turnkey backers (Bain Capital Crypto, Faction, Galaxy, Sequoia, and Variant). The funding will enable Turnkey to continue its goal of providing a foundational layer for AI-enabled programmable security and financial systems.
What this strategic investment enables
The Turnkey strategic investment comes at a perfect time as stablecoins and AI agents are redefining how money moves online. Under this situation, Turnkey’s infrastructure addresses three core demands:
- Customizable programmable wallets that are programmably created/modified per use case and security policy (based on who the accounts are created for)
- Granular security controls that allow fine-grained permissioning and multi-party authorization
- Verifiable compute for complex transactions while maintaining cryptographic proof of performance on execution integrity
During the past year, Turnkey has onboarded key accounts such as Flutterwave, World App, and Polymarket. Most notably, Anchorage Digital (the only federally chartered digital asset bank in the U.S.) has gone live on Turnkey Verifiable Cloud. This validates and confirms, even more, institutional acceptance of Turnkey’s platform.
How verifiable computing operates
Turnkey is developing a “verifiable cloud” (its core innovation) to keep private workloads, such as private key management, transaction signing, and policy enforcement, secure. At the same time, clients can cryptographically verify that they were performed correctly. This is important for:
- Stablecoin issuers who must demonstrate accurate reserves
- AI agents transacting independently of human supervision
- Institutional custodians who are responsible for compliance and auditing purposes.
Sector state
So far, the demand for Turnkey’s infrastructure indicates a significant transition within crypto infrastructure. AI agents are increasingly becoming active economic components; they require safe implementations of wallets with clear operating parameters. In addition, stablecoin regulation is developing through the GENIUS Act, and stablecoin issuers require evidence of the appropriate safeguarding of reserves. The programmable security layer developed by Turnkey establishes an overlapping point around this trend.
“Stablecoins are transforming how value moves online, and AI agents are upending traditional security assumptions. Turnkey builds verifiable infrastructure that secures both onchain transactions and the offchain systems they depend on. We’re excited to have Archetype and Circle Ventures as investors as we scale our team, prepare for the public launch of Turnkey Verifiable Cloud, and continue building the infrastructure that powers the world’s most critical workloads.” – Bryce Ferguson, CEO and co-founder of Turnkey.
