ZEC meets $570 resistance as analyst dismisses bearish fears ahead of Ironwood upgrade

ZEC fails to continue higher after rejecting key USD 570 pivot

Zcash (ZEC) has stalled at $570, ending a month-long rally. Despite the rising prices hitting this barrier, analysts are not calling this a bearish trend change but referring to it as a pullback. With an impending upgrade—the Ironwood network upgrade (Network Upgrade 6.3) scheduled to launch on July 28, 2026—the analyst’s call could be right.

Resistance at $570 cannot be treated as bearish

An analyst who goes by the pseudonym Ardi stated that the rejection that ZEC faced at $570 cannot be treated as a bearish trend immediately, but it would be fair to consider it a pullback. “It’s the chart’s natural way of rebalancing a relatively large move, especially directly beneath the largest resistance pivot on the chart,” stated Ardi.

Ardi pointed out that the market goes through different phases, such as rebalancing liquidity and consolidating, before continuing the pattern. Based on this phenomenon, the analyst stated that ZEC could crash to $520, and then if it holds above this level, it could once again reach $570.

Zcash’s Ironwood approaches in a dew days

This analyst claim comes at a time when Zcash is about to launch a new upgrade. The Ironwood network upgrade (Network Upgrade 6.3) is scheduled to launch on July 28, 2026, activating at block height 3,428,143. The launch was originally targeted for July 21 but was postponed by one week to give exchanges, wallets, miners, and other ecosystem participants more time to prepare for the upgrade.

Ironwood is one of Zcash’s most significant security upgrades. It retires the existing Orchard shielded pool, which was affected by an “infinity” vulnerability disclosed in May 2026, and replaces it with a new shielded pool using patched cryptography. The upgrade also introduces a turnstile mechanism that requires funds leaving the old Orchard pool to pass through a public accounting checkpoint before entering the new pool. This allows the network to verify the integrity of ZEC’s circulating supply while preserving privacy for future shielded transactions.

ZEC could recover the $520 support breaking technical structures

As shown in the chart below, ZEC is trading inside a symmetrical triangle pattern, and it has lost the $520 support level that Ardi expected it to hold. When the symmetrical triangle forms, the prices usually make lower highs and higher lows, and the range of motion contracts.

ZEC meets USD 570 resistance as analyst dismisses bearish fears ahead of Ironwood upgrade

With ZEC making a new lower high, it is bound to crash lower to complete the zigzag motion. However, with the upcoming upgrade, the excitement around the coin may have the ability to break this pattern, and ZEC could once again reclaim the $520 level, which could turn out bullish.
