Zano (ZANO) is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency ecosystem launched in 2019 after the transition from Boolberry. It uses ring signatures, stealth addresses, and confidential transaction tools to protect sender, receiver, and amount data. The network targets private payments, confidential assets, staking, aliases, escrow functions, and wallet-level security. ZANO Token ZANO supports transactions, staking, and network activity inside the Zano blockchain. The network combines Proof of Work and Proof of Stake, so miners and stakers both help secure the chain. Its staking model has no minimum amount or lock period, which gives users flexible participation. Privacy and Ecosystem Zano introduced the Zarcanum hard fork in March 2024 at block height 2,555,000. This upgrade included confidential assets and the introduction of a proof-of-stake approach with obscured staking amounts. This allowed for the creation of privacy coins using confidential assets without deploying a new blockchain. Zano also supports on-chain nicknames, multi-signature wallets, and customizable escrow agreements. The platform is characterized by a strong support of wallet development and integration.
