About Uniswap

Uniswap (UNI) is a decentralized exchange protocol that allows users to swap tokens on Ethereum and other supported networks. Its token UNI is a gateway for involvement in the governance of the protocol, linking a user to one of the biggest DeFi trading ecosystems. UNI is used for governance, access to voting, treasury decisions, and ecosystem coordination. Token holders vote on proposals covering protocol upgrades, fee settings, deployments, grants, and community funding. The token is not needed for every swap, because traders mainly pay network fees and liquidity pool costs in the assets they use. Liquidity providers supply token pairs to pools and earn trading fees from market activity. In the wider ecosystem, UNI helps guide infrastructure that supports DeFi trading, liquidity, wallets, apps, and automated markets. Uniswap gives users direct asset exchange without a central order book. Builders, it offers open tools for swaps, pricing, routing, and liquidity services across many crypto applications today.
