MONAbout Monad
Monad is a highly efficient Layer 1 blockchain platform fully compatible with Ethereum. Its main goal is to provide developers with the tools to seamlessly port apps and experiences from Ethereum to a much faster L1. The blockchain uses Proof-of-Stake and improves on what Ethereum does today by bringing higher speed and performance, avoiding transaction delays, reducing fees and increasing throughput through parallel processing. Monad is built to support the wide Ethereum virtual machine (EVM), allowing developers to seamlessly port their existing Ethereum applications and smart contracts to the Monad platform and benefit from the speed and cost savings of the underlying architecture. The native token of the platform is called MON and serves a variety of purposes including staking for rewards, payment of transaction fees, security services and smart contract execution and as an asset for the ecosystem.
