Decentraland is a virtual world built on blockchain, where people actually buy, sell, and build on digital land. Everything runs on Ethereum, so when you own a plot, it’s tracked on-chain through NFTs and you can sell it, trade it, or just hang onto it. Inside, you move around as an avatar, explore places other users have built, and even create your own scenes or events. There’s a whole digital economy going on, all revolving around virtual real estate. The native token is MANA. If you want land, outfits for your avatar, or just about anything from the marketplace, you’ll pay with MANA. LAND and Estate tokens represent your pieces of property, single plots or bigger combined areas, while MANA is the cash everyone uses. What’s interesting is that Decentraland runs as a DAO, so people holding tokens actually help decide future updates and rules. It’s one of the first metaverse projects out there, mixing social hangouts, user-made worlds, real digital ownership, and blockchain-powered governance into one never-ending online space.
