WebX 2026, one of Asia’s largest Web3 conferences, unveiled a new lineup of speakers and sponsors on Tuesday. The conference will also inculcate programme highlights ahead of its return to Tokyo next month, as growing institutional interest and regulatory developments continue to reshape the digital asset industry.

The two-day conference, which will take place on July 13-14 at The Prince Park Tower Tokyo, will gather executives from top financial institutions, crypto firms, payment networks and government bodies to discuss the future of blockchain technology and digital finance.

The event builds on the success of last year’s conference, which attracted over 14,000 attendees from more than 90 countries and featured more than 170 side events throughout Tokyo, making it one of the largest digital asset-focused events in the region.

WebX conference comes as blockchain tech picks pace

This year’s programme comes at a time when institutional adoption of blockchain technology is accelerating while governments around the world continue refining rules for cryptocurrencies, stablecoins and tokenised financial products.

The conference agenda is a reflection of those trends. Headline sessions include a special keynote from Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee, as well as panel discussions on topics ranging from Asia’s growing influence on crypto markets to the role of stablecoins in transforming payments across the Asia-Pacific region, tokenised capital markets, artificial intelligence and the changing regulatory landscape around digital assets.

Organisers say discussions are meant to bring together perspectives from policymakers, financial institutions and technology companies as traditional finance continues to intersect with blockchain infrastructure.

The event is coming at a pivotal time for Japan’s digital asset industry. Japan has continued to be one of the world’s most active jurisdictions on developing crypto regulations.

The recent proposals to regulate cryptocurrencies as financial instruments under a regime similar to that of traditional securities have attracted worldwide attention and enhanced the country’s reputation as a leading market for regulated digital asset innovation.

Against that background, WebX is expected to be a meeting point for domestic and international firms seeking to expand their presence in Asia.

The conference has also beefed up its speaker roster with numerous prominent names from across finance, crypto and technology.

Other newly confirmed and invited speakers include Tom Lee, Bitmine; Franklin Bi, General Partner, Pantera Capital; Yoshitaka Kitao, Chairman and CEO, SBI Holdings; Giselle Lai, Director of Digital Assets Strategy for APAC, Fidelity International; Christian Rau, Senior Vice President of Digital Assets and Blockchain, Mastercard; Carole House, former White House advisor and CEO, Penumbra Strategies; Chetan Karkhanis, Franklin Templeton; Fiona Murray, Ripple; David Walsh, Ethereum Foundation; Aval

Speakers are expected to touch on how blockchain technology is reshaping payments, asset tokenisation, financial infrastructure, and institutional investment strategies.

WebX expands corporate partners

WebX has also added to its list of corporate partners in addition to the conference programme. Other new title sponsor Advasa joins Bitbank, bitFlyer, BitLending, eole Inc., SBI Holdings, Simplex and UPCX.

With growing engagement from both traditional financial institutions and blockchain infrastructure providers, platinum sponsors include Canton, Sun Sun House, Fireblocks, Gonka, MetaPlanet and TRON.

The growing sponsor base reflects increased industry interest in Asia, as firms look for opportunities in markets with clearer regulatory frameworks for digital assets.

“The conference is intended to gather together the organisations that are leading those changes,” said Makoto Aoki, Chairman of WebX.“The momentum of change across digital assets continues to build, underpinned by growing institutional participation, improvements in payments infrastructure and enhanced regulatory clarity across key markets,” said Aoki.“WebX brings together the organisations, policymakers and innovators who are shaping these developments, providing a forum for the exchange of ideas, the forging of partnerships and the discussion of the future of the industry.

As digital assets continue to gain traction in the mainstream financial space, WebX 2026 will likely be one of the year’s most closely watched forums for discussions around the technologies, regulations and partnerships that could define the next chapter of the global blockchain industry.
