Solana stirred wide speculation over a consumer-brand tie-up after its official X account shared an image of a “Solana Edition” watch carrying Swatch and Audemars Piguet branding, drawing quick attention from crypto users and watch collectors as the network continues to push its identity beyond blockchain software.
The post quickly spread across X and fueled debate over whether Solana was hinting at a limited-edition release or testing demand for a collectible product, with no official confirmation yet from Swatch or Audemars Piguet on any Solana-linked watch collection.
The Solana post arrived as Swatch and Audemars Piguet were already drawing market attention with Royal Pop, a collaboration that helped amplify speculation around a possible Solana-linked collectible.
Swiss brands test digital tools
The discussion comes as Swiss watchmakers experiment more openly with digital tools, artificial intelligence and virtual ownership.
Swatch has already introduced AI-DADA, a customization platform that allows users to generate one-of-one watch designs from text prompts, using a system trained on decades of Swatch design history to create personalized New Gent models.
Audemars Piguet has also filed trademarks covering NFTs and virtual products tied to its brand, pointing to a broader effort by luxury watchmakers to guard their designs as digital collectibles gain ground.
The luxury watchmaker has also used advanced technology to support its traditional craft, including an intelligent setting device for Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar watches that automatically sets and winds compatible models.
That effort highlights a broader trend in which heritage watch brands are adopting new tools without abandoning the mechanical engineering and exclusivity that anchor their identity.
Solana pushes deeper into physical products
Solana has been building a broader consumer footprint beyond its blockchain network, led by Solana Mobile’s Saga smartphone and its follow-up device, Seeker, both designed to give users direct access to crypto wallets, decentralized applications and on-chain identity tools.
The network has also supported branded merchandise, including apparel and accessories aimed at its community, offering its supporters a way to showcase their connection to the ecosystem.
A confirmed watch project would move that strategy into a more premium category, placing Solana inside a market where limited supply, community status and design identity can shape demand as much as utility.
For now, the post has achieved what a strong teaser often does, placing Solana at the center of a broader story connecting crypto culture, Swiss watchmaking, AI-driven design and collectible consumer products.
