Google is reportedly testing a new AI personal assistant to compete with platforms like OpenClaw in the ongoing agentic AI movement. Under the ongoing testing phase, Google has codenamed this under-development platform as “Remy”.
Remy is being created to serve as a 24/7 personal agent fueled by Gemini. It will be laced with action-taking capabilities to perform tasks on behalf of the users, Business Insider reported on Tuesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The report said that it has seen internal documents that outine more information on Remy and Google’s intention with it.
“It elevates the Gemini app into a true assistant that can take actions on your behalf – not just answer questions or generate content,” the report has quoted Google as saying in the document.
Remy will be able to integrate with different elements of the Google ecosystem including Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and Docs among others. It would be able to send mails on behalf of the users, schedule meetings, edit documents, and manage files without contant human monitoring.
The speculations of Remy’s development by Google have already started to circulate widely on social media.

Later this month, Google will be holding its I/O 2026 event slated from May 19 to May 20. During this event, the search engine giant is expected to spotlight its latest products and services before the global tech community.
Perhaps, Remy could become one of Google’s major annoucements at the I/O event.
Crypto and tech platforms including Coinbase, Crypto.com, and OpenAI are also accelerating efforts to grow and develop the AI ecosystem, giving these agents the ability to initiate microtransactions and day-to-day tasks.
