Inveniam launches NVNM Chain, bringing audit trails for AI agents

Inveniam launches NVNM Chain

Inveniam Capital Partners launched NVNM Chain, a purpose-built Layer 2 blockchain designed to give AI agents a verifiable record of the data, reasoning and human accountability behind their decisions.

The company said the network, which is scheduled to go live on mainnet on May 13, 2026, is aimed at institutions using AI agents in capital allocation, compliance reviews and treasury operations, where regulators and counterparties increasingly need proof of what an automated system relied on before taking action.

AI accountability moves into focus

Inveniam said NVNM Chain allows any AI agent to create an immutable receipt of its source data, reasoning and accountable human operator through a single function call. The system is designed to address a growing gap between the rapid adoption of autonomous AI tools and the governance controls needed to monitor them.

“The conversation around AI in financial services has shifted from capability to accountability,” said Patrick O’Meara, founder and CEO of Inveniam. “Regulators are no longer asking whether an AI agent can act. They are asking how you prove what it acted on.”

The launch comes as more enterprise software begins embedding task-specific AI agents, while many companies still lack mature governance models for autonomous systems, according to figures cited by Inveniam.

Built for regulated AI workflows

Unlike general-purpose blockchains that can store a hash, NVNM Chain is being positioned as infrastructure tailored for AI agents operating inside regulated firms. The chain gives each agent an on-chain identity through a “Know Your Agent” credential, linking the agent to its operator and approved scope of activity.

Inveniam said the network will only accept requests that match pre-approved operations, reducing the risk that an AI agent can act outside its authorized role. Records are also managed through access controls designed to mirror how regulated institutions already handle internal data.

At mainnet, NVNM Chain will launch with two production-ready tools: an MCP Server that lets developers send agent data and reasoning to the chain without blockchain expertise, and a Know Your Agent portal that issues non-transferable credentials tied to verified human operators.

Private markets data backs the chain

Inveniam said the project builds on its existing data infrastructure, including 90 granted U.S. patents and more than $200 billion in private market assets credentialed through its Inveniam IO platform.

The company said NVNM Chain has also been validated through TraceChain, a deployment with AIRev and OnDemand focused on compliance checks for GPU export controls at billion-event scale.

The launch positions NVNM Chain as part of a broader push to give AI decisions a clear audit trail before autonomous agents become more deeply embedded in finance and regulated markets.
