Worldcoin WLD is a digital identity and crypto project that aims to prove a user is a real person, not a bot. People can create a World ID after an Orb device scans the iris and generates a privacy-focused credential that apps can verify. WLD is the project’s token. It launched as an ERC-20 on Ethereum and is commonly bridged to World Chain for use inside World App. Eligible verified users can claim WLD where available, and users can also send, swap, or hold it like other tokens. In the ecosystem, WLD mainly supports incentives and on-chain liquidity. Apps may use it for rewards, simple payments, or access to features, and it can also trade on exchanges or in DeFi pools where available. The project also links WLD to future governance, but the scope of voting depends on protocol updates and local rules over time, by jurisdiction.
