About The Graph

The Graph is a blockchain network that simplifies finding and retrieving on-chain data, traditionally a lot of work to search through many raw data sources. The Graph can be imagined as a decentralized, fully-functioning, search engine for Web 3.0. The GRT token is the native cryptocurrency of the Graph Network and is used as a medium of exchange to compensate those who populate and deliver the organized data. To operate in an optimal manner, The Graph separates the on-chain data from the blockchain by grouping the data into smaller files, called subgraphs. Indexers are blockchain developers who run nodes to index the data, Curators mark the best subgraphs for use by the community, and Delegators earn GRT by staking with trusted Indexers. Consumers simply pay for the on-chain data that they wish to use. All of this creates a very efficient environment for developers of Smart Contracts, AI platforms and Decentralised Applications to easily access data in real-time from on-chain data.
