Kaspa (KAS) is a proof-of-work Layer 1 network that supports peer-to-peer payments. It is not a linear arrangement of blocks but a blockDAG structure that allows numerous valid blocks to be added to the ledger. This allows the network to have a high transaction speed, but with a security scheme based on mining. The native coin of Kaspa is $KAS. Users spend it to send payments, pay transaction fees, obtain mining rewards, or transfer currency across wallets, exchanges, merchants and future apps. The coin does not handle governance in the conventional token-voting form, but its major purpose is settlement, fees, rewards, liquidity and network security.
