About Sonic

Sonic (S) is the native token of the Sonic blockchain, an EVM-compatible Layer-1 network for fast decentralized applications. The token pays transaction fees, supports staking for network security, and gives holders a role in governance decisions. It also connects directly to Sonic’s developer model, where applications can earn part of the fees they generate. Sonic focuses on high-speed blockchain activity while keeping Ethereum developer tools available. The network says it can process up to 10,000 transactions per second and reach sub-second finality. Developers can build with familiar Solidity tools, which helps projects move or launch applications on the network. The project also uses Fee Monetization, known as FeeM. This allows app developers to keep up to 90% of the fees generated by their apps. Sonic also has Sonic Gateway, a gateway to Ethereum with a 14-day security mechanism.
