Re Protocol (REUSD) is a blockchain platform that allows users to buy reinsurance risk with its tokenized insurance system. The project bridges the gap between traditional reinsurance markets and DeFi through deposit tokens and decentralized underwriting pools. The system uses various networks, among which Ethereum, Avalanche, Arbitrum, and Base are included, to allow the user to choose the network. The protocol will provide 2 deposit tokens: reUSD and reUSDe. reUSD is aimed at customers seeking a fixed yield of principal protection and is associated with risk-free rates and an additional 250 basis points. reUSDe exposes its customers to insurance risk and provides variable returns, with yields that may vary according to market activity. The Re Protocol implements transparent insurance-based returns by using underwriting pools. All the issues of governance and treasury are managed by the Re Foundation based in the Cayman Islands, so that everything is done in order to be compliant and to manage capital efficiently. The ecosystem is linked to DeFi programs, which comprise Curve, Pendle, and Ethena, in order to provide users with reinsurance-backed possibilities on the blockchain.
