As the biggest financial shift occurs with almost all the assets moving on-chain, Coinbase is well positioned to capitalize on this mass migration, says CEO Brian Armstrong. The comments come as Coinbase hits a new all-time high in its share of the crypto trading volume, according to its latest earnings report.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong mentioned that a massive financial shift is underway where every asset on earth is moving on-chain and that Coinbase is well prepared and positioned to capitalize on this migration.

His X post read, “A handful of companies will own the rails for this new system. Coinbase is uniquely positioned to capitalize on this generational transformation.”

According to the earnings reports published today, Coinbase hit a new all-time crypto trading volume market share with 10.3% in Q2 2026, up from 9.1% in Q1 2026. This was Coinbase’s third consecutive quarter of market share gains.

Additionally, the crypto derivatives trading volume proved resilient, nearly reaching Q1’s all-time high despite the overall crypto derivatives market declining by double digits quarter-over-quarter as Coinbase reaches an all-time high in crypto derivatives trading volume market share for the third straight quarter.

“In Q2 we hit our 3rd consecutive all-time high in crypto trading volume market share, proving our Everything Exchange can deliver in all market conditions,” said Brian Armstrong, Co-Founder and CEO. “Coinbase is no longer a bet just on the price of Bitcoin. All of financial services are getting updated by crypto, whether that’s trading or payments or lending, and Coinbase is the best-positioned company in the world to power this.”

Coinbase’s prediction markets business continued to gain momentum in the second quarter of 2026, with contracts traded and revenue more than doubling to grow 106% quarter over quarter, pushing annualized revenue above $100 million.

The company also launched a new crypto binaries experience late in the quarter, which helped drive a threefold increase in daily traders and a fourfold jump in daily revenue compared with May’s daily average.

Coinbase’s stablecoin business also posted strong growth, with the average USDC held across Coinbase products reaching a record $20 billion in Q2 2026, representing more than 30% of all USDC in circulation at the end of the quarter. Over the past year, the company captured roughly 50% of all USDC economics.

Meanwhile, stablecoin transaction volume across the market surpassed $37 trillion year-to-date, with 79% coming from USDC and Coinbase Partner Stablecoins, up from 51% in full-year 2024. On Base Chain, stablecoin transaction volume increased sevenfold year over year.
