Aave’s lending activity continues to expand, with active loans surpassing $11.3 billion as total value locked rises 7.4% over the past month. However, the protocol’s growing fundamentals have yet to translate into price strength, as AAVE has slipped below its 50-day moving average, raising concerns over a potential short-term bearish shift.
Aave’s lending activity climbs over $11 billion
Aave’s lending activity has expanded significantly over the past month, with active loans on the protocol climbing above $11.3 billion, up from roughly $10 billion previously. The increase suggests stronger demand for borrowing across the Aave ecosystem, as users continue to supply capital and take out loans against their crypto collateral. At the same time, Aave’s total value locked (TVL) has reached $14.67 billion, representing a 7.4% increase over the past 30 days, highlighting continued growth in the amount of capital deposited into the protocol.
TVL is an important metric because rising deposits indicate that more capital is being committed to Aave’s lending markets, providing greater liquidity for borrowers and potentially increasing activity across the protocol. The protocol has also generated approximately $27.1 million in fees over the same period, providing evidence of growing economic activity.
This growth could eventually support AAVE’s price because higher borrowing activity and TVL can strengthen the protocol’s fundamentals, increase fee generation and demonstrate growing demand for its lending infrastructure. Greater usage can also increase the potential value of the Aave ecosystem, particularly if higher fees translate into greater value accruing to AAVE holders through the protocol’s tokenomics.
AAVE loses $88 support level and 50-day MA

However, stronger fundamentals do not automatically translate into an immediate price increase, especially if broader market conditions remain weak. In this case, AAVE’s loss of the 50-day moving average creates a divergence between improving protocol activity and weakening short-term price momentum, making the token’s ability to reclaim that technical level important for confirming whether the fundamental growth is beginning to translate into bullish price action.
Not only did AAVE lose its 50-day moving average, but the token also slipped below the support level at $88 where it had been consolidating for an extended period. Losing both levels simultaneously is a significant technical setback, as the former support zone could now turn into resistance if AAVE attempts to recover.
The breakdown suggests that sellers have gained control of the short-term price action despite the protocol’s improving fundamentals. Unless AAVE quickly reclaims the lost support and the 50-day MA, the token could remain under pressure and potentially move toward its next major support zone.
