XTZAbout Tezos
Tezos is a smart-contract blockchain that was started by Arthur and Kathleen Breitman back in 2015, before launching its ICO two years later. It operates its own token, Tez or Tezzies (XTZ). XTZ is utilized for staking, fees, smart contract payments and upgrades voting. Unlike most blockchains, Tezos is a "Liquid Proof-of-Stake" consensus system where the user can stake their XTZ or delegate them to another user and continue to receive rewards. However, the most distinctive feature of Tezos is its method of upgrades. This is because stakeholder approval is obtained for proposed changes, and hence the protocol continues without any messy splits. Tezos is highly versatile as developers can create decentralized apps and digital assets with its smart-contract system.
