EGLDAbout MultiversX
MultiversX is a blockchain protocol built for decentralized applications, RWAs, enterprise systems, and metaverse products. Its native token, EGLD, supports fees, staking, validation, governance, and network operations. EGLD Utility The EGLD, or the Electronic Gold, is what drives transactions on the MultiversX network. The transaction fees for the network are paid using EGLD, while the validators are required to stake EGLD in order to validate transactions on the blockchain. In addition, developers leverage the platform to build protocols and decentralized applications on the blockchain. Network Design MultiversX applies Adaptive State Sharding to distribute tasks among various components of the network. This technology involves state, transaction, and network sharding to enable parallel processing. This network functions with execution shards and one coordination shard referred to as Metachain. Validator nodes are selected by proof of stake using EGLD tokens. The validators have rating scores depending on their performance and face penalties for bad behavior.
