USD.AI (CHIP) is the governance token for a lending protocol built around AI hardware finance. The project lets GPU operators borrow against their equipment, giving them faster access to on-chain credit than most traditional lenders can provide. Its model focuses on a clear market problem: GPUs cost heavily, lose value over time, and often need financing before banks can complete long reviews. The protocol turns approved GPU hardware into collateral for loans. That structure gives operators a way to unlock capital from machines already tied to AI workloads. It also creates a credit market where loan terms depend on collateral rules, approved curators, and governance-set risk standards. USD.AI runs a dual-token system. USDai works as the stablecoin layer, while sUSDai represents the yield-bearing version for users who stake USDai. Yield comes from GPU loan interest and reserve assets, including Treasury-backed holdings. CHIP holders steer USD.AI through the protocol’s DAO, with votes covering the main rules that shape the lending market. Those decisions include interest-rate settings, accepted GPU models, collateral standards, fees, and treasury use.
