XRP whale activity dries up as Binance flows collapse

XRP whale activity dries up as Binance flows

The decent-sized XRP transfer into the CEX Binance has seen a sharp drop and also the large withdrawals followed the same trend. This is depicting that the large-scale holders are currently not interested in moving the coins on the exchange for the purpose of selling or taking them off for accumulation. The binance data is not highlighting the buying or selling pressure and is depicting a market where this whale activity has taken a break and that leaves the retail market participants to make most of the visible flow on the exchange.

The trend is on the drier side for the inflows from size

The 1 million+ XRP band, previously a pretty consistent indicator of some imminent selling pressure, has faded almost to the point of nonexistence on the inflow chart versus its 2024-2025 appearance. Similarly for the 100K-1 million band just below it, whales simply aren’t dumping large amounts of XRP onto Binance at the moment.

The transaction inflow rates have come down across all of the transaction tiers of 1,000 XRP to 10,000 XRP quite drastically. Small retail-level transfers are not necessarily drying up but large whale transactions that dictate big market movements have seemingly been put to a stop.

The similar trend for the outflow metric

The outflow data signals more of the same: Major withdrawals in the 100k to 1 million XRP range, as well as the 1 million XRP and greater range, have declined significantly in a similar manner as major deposits. Typically, coins being withdrawn from exchanges into personal wallets is interpreted to be bullish for an asset due to the coins reducing in circulation available for selling.

This interpretation also becomes weaker when the large withdrawal is also at a very low number. A withdrawal of 2 million XRP can indicate accumulation but when no/negligible large deposits or withdrawals are occurring, then it can be considered as whales are staying inactive without shifting or removing funds from Binance.

The current situation is neither a distribution nor real accumulation

The drop-off in both deposits and withdrawals implies that whales are not playing either game. They aren’t sending a significant amount of XRP to be sold on exchanges such as Binance nor are they offloading XRP from those exchanges to stack the asset. The Binance data indicates a market where large traders and holders are passively sitting out of the market.

The market is showing most of the retail activity at the moment

The 1,000 to 10,000 XRP transaction band is the only one still showing steady activity on both deposits and withdrawals. That means most of the visible activity on Binance is now coming from retail traders.

Historically, the highest value spikes experienced on XRP are at the demand of Whales and not from retail alone. Retail trading normally sides along a particular range, as it requires significant amounts of capital to really send the market one way or another, to really see what we want to see in terms of trend. Until the 1 million XRP band can move again (eitheanother tor out), XRP could see a consolidation range over the short term.

The market is currently in the wait mode

In this setup, patience is rewarded more than the position. With both Whale sides quiet around the chart, it’s a no-conviction condition rather than a directional condition, with range-bound price action being the logical outcome of a market where the dominant participants have stood back from the side.

The market participants should focus on the 1 million+ band more than any other. If one notices an occurrence of massive outflows returning of this size, then that would indeed indicate the beginnings of fresh accumulation by whales. A return of inflows on this level, however, would indicate exactly the reverse and so until something along those lines happens, assume further sideways and boring volume with predominantly retail volume.
