XRP strengthens Asia presence as Gemini enables XRPL transfers; network activity spikes by 650%

Gemini Enables XRP Ledger Deposits and Withdrawals for Singapore Customers+TA

XRP further strengthened its reach in Asia, with crypto exchange Gemini extending XRP deposits and withdrawals directly through the XRP ledger. Simultaneously, the XRP active addresses spiked by 650%, signaling an increment in network participation. Despite the hype around the expansion into Asia, XRP has lost the $1.50 level.

XRP customers in Singapore can transfer via XRP ledger

Cofounder of Gemini, Tyler Winklevoss, stated on X that the exchange will offer XRP deposits and withdrawals for its customers in Singapore, where they could use the XRP Ledger directly for transfers. Eligible Gemini users in Singapore can now transfer XRP between their Gemini accounts and external XRP Ledger (XRPL) addresses, allowing them to move funds on-chain rather than relying only on transactions within the exchange.

The move expands Gemini’s XRP services in Singapore beyond trading and custody to include direct blockchain transfers. It also comes as Gemini continues its regulatory efforts in Singapore, while Ripple separately expands its regulated payment operations in the country.

APAC is a canvas for localized innovations, say XRP APAC Alliance co-initiator.

Asia Pacific (APAC) has been a hotspot for XRP adoption. Nicole Nguyen, founder of APAC DAO and co-initiator of the XRPL APAC Alliance, stated in an interview, “To us, this is the power of XRPL in APAC: not just a technology stack, but a canvas for localized innovation. Through our hackathons and long-term programs, we’re building an ecosystem that is sustainable, inclusive, and builder-first.” Pertinent from the rice paddies of Vietnam to the traditional tech hubs of Japan.

The more than 650% spike in XRP network activity could have a positive effect on the token’s price because it indicates a sharp increase in the number of users interacting with the network. Higher activity can signal growing interest, adoption, and demand for XRP, particularly if the increase is driven by payments, accumulation, or genuine usage rather than simple wallet transfers.

If more users are buying and holding XRP as network activity grows, this can create additional buying pressure and support the price. However, higher network activity alone does not guarantee a rally, as transactions can also increase due to trading or transfers between wallets.

As shown in the chart above, XRP has once again fallen below the $1.50 level after briefly staying above this psychological level for some time. Although the bulls tried to push the prices higher, the bear pressure was high as the token crossed this price level after nearly 2 months. As such, traders were waiting to sell their coins at the first glance of profit.
