Starknet is an Ethereum Layer 2 that uses zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs. This means it can handle way more transactions without sacrificing Ethereum’s security. Basically, Starknet groups a bunch of transactions off-chain, checks they’re legit with STARK validity proofs, then locks everything back onto Ethereum. That takes a lot of pressure off the main network so that things can run smoother and faster. Think of Starknet as a rollup that supercharges Ethereum’s speed and efficiency. The STRK token is at the center of it all, helping manage participation and voting across the network. If you’re a developer, you can write smart contracts on Starknet using Cairo, the language built for it. STRK isn’t just for governance. You can use it for staking and to get involved in different parts of the ecosystem. It’s the glue holding Starknet together.
