1INCH signals early accumulation with record activity and falling exchange supply

1INCH, the native token of the leading DeFi decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator 1inch traded flat over the past week, down a modest 1.3 percent as it exchanges hands at $0.08 as of Wednesday. Despite the subpar price performance, the token is showing signs of life per exchange and on-chain data.

1INCH network data shows bullish trend

According to on-chain data received on Wednesday, 1inch’s total transaction count surged to 20,897 on Wednesday – the single highest daily reading in the past 6 months. It is actually more than 13x above the 6-month average of 1,532.

Meanwhile, active addresses holding the 1INCH token increased to 551, also near the top of their 6-month range with an average of 282, and a maximum reading of 701. Token transfer count showed a similar trajectory – up a massive 467 percent vs. the 3-month baseline.

However, what really stands out is the composition of the activity. For instance, median transfer size collapsed to roughly $850 on August 4 – down 75.7 percent from the 3-month median of $3,859.

Mean transfer size shows a similar pattern, showing a fall of 41.9 percent vs 3-month. In other words, the surge in transaction count is being driven by a large number of small transfers rather than a handful of large ones – a pattern more consistent with granular, retail-level activity than whale accumulation.

What does exchange data indicate?

As far as exchange data is concerned, the Binance netflow has been negative all through Saturday to Wednesday. The 7-day average sits around -143,917, down a steep 173 percent from last week.

At the same time, Binance’s 1INCH reserve has continued to drift lower, falling from roughly 155.5 million toward 142.9 million currently. Falling reserves are bullish for the cryptocurrency, as it creates an indirect supply crunch for 1INCH.

2026 has been quite a disturbing year for DeFi, largely due to the enormous number of protocol exploits due to flash loan attacks, and other mechanisms.

That said, the team at 1inch continues to ship. On July 28, 1inch introduced Aqua, a self-custodial shared liquidity layer across 13 different blockchain networks.
